Keep Your Dog's Tail Wagging At The Beach!

Nov. 27, 2016

Don’t leave your pooch at home during your trip to the beach. Pets are family too and we have all the go to spots for you and your pup to play fetch, run around and soak up the sun.

If you were a dog, your tail would be wagging and barking full of excitement. Alaqua Unleashed Bark Park is a fenced in, 2 arced galore for your big or small fur baby to roam around, leash free! Your pup can lounge under the shaded trees or cool off with running water after playing a game of fetch and chase your tail. Located in Santa Rosa Beach, this dog park is conveniently close to many beach cottage rental properties.

Being a resident or property owner in Walton County, gives you the ability to obtain a permit allowing your pooch to hit the beach with you. Although there are specific times that allow you and your pup to play in the sand and in the ocean, obtaining a permit is becoming a must have. During the spring and summer months, you may bring your dog onto the beach from 4pm-8am, and anywhere from 3pm-9am during the fall and winter months. If you can relax on the beach, your fur baby should too!

You and your dog may get in the best workout yet after hiking the Morris Lake Nature Trail in Topsail Hill Preserve State Park. The 2.5 mile trail will have you thinking you’re walking on plush snow, while gazing into the natural wildlife of the Gulf of Mexico. This breathtaking 1,650 acre park has 3.2 miles of clear water beaches, and white sandy dunes as high as 25 feet! Topsail Hill has it going on for you and your dog.

Pet friendly and 30A go hand-in-hand. Many restaurants, shops, and rentals on 30A have arms wide open for you and your pup. Grab a delicious bite to eat on the outdoor deck of Bud and Alley’s, or enjoy live music at the The Red Bar where your dog is always welcomed.
